WORLD SUICIDE AWARENESSES

It’s getting worse let’s not forget to check on our friends

With the world ealth organization marking the world mental health awareness day on September,19 2020 they had heartbreaking news for us. Suicide has been ranked the second leading cause of death. The silent cry the deepening state is worrying because it intensities can be felt in homes and even work places. We have received reports of teachers committing suicide with the cause unexplainable to the society. The leading question is what is happening.
The world health organization stated the fact that 78 percent of the affected ,victims are of age bracket 15-25, which attracts our attention to the fact that these are youths. Our young generation is at stake. These are growing bracket of being with puberty issues. Emotions are part of the youths with the peer pressure weighing on them leading to a deep state in our youth world. The increased interaction with the growing technology is great worry. The interaction has reduced with the relationship between the youth and guardians are broken. They view the social media as the best platform to air out there problems. Sad truth but the help can never from social media unless they understand. The guardians need to check on the mental state of their children. The rage from the society’s reaction to the youths misuse of the social media platform is sickening.
With Kenya reporting approximately 410 each year. The scenes on our screens are so damaging. A moment to check the hunging ropes, remains of what was once a decent uman broken to the level of death.
The silent cry on our men counterparts is to be felt at a later time with many of those affecting with suicide are men.should be allowed to state te fact that women are blessed with a talkative nature wich is something i would have loved the male party to have but its easy. Our society has made it clear that a man needs to be tough, crying not an option. This will direct the frustrated guy to the drinking zone. They have suppress the pain inorder to showcase their man power. The pain deepens eats up the brain clells. A couple of diseases connected and when the situation worsens so does the desire to finish it all increase. The government took the initiative to give us some advice. Maybe its high time we don’t leave all the responsibility to the health workers. They are in to make money wic is not there fault hence wouldn’t say the help from a psychologist is not enough. Family love and openness is like the first step to healing. Everyone of us has a weakness just a little attention cant break us. Give the person a feeling of comfort and peaceful place he can actually be him.
Lets heal us, forget about the ethics and mythicakl relations to the traditional position of men and listen to them. With all the screaming and shouting in the open, danger looms. No more outlook. Prevent suicide talk about. Suicide awareness. Its real its here.

SICKLE CELL AWARENESS
The entire month allocated for the awareness of the disease. All over the world differet organization took the initiative to reach out to the affected people. The SCCD made arrangements and ad eac day assigned to its own activities. The days turned out successful.

Commonly known as the disease of the blood

What exactly is sickle cell anaemia?
Usually shows at a young age and may last even for a lifetime. The disease detected at the age of 4 years. Sickle cell anaemia is a disease of the red blood cells. A normal being has disk shaped red blood cells but a sickle cell patient has a sickle shaped red blood cell making the red blood cells to be rigid and sticky. With the rigidness comes blockage which at the long run causes the ldamage of red lood cells. A low number of red blood cell reduces the amount of oxygen circulation.

What are the symptoms to look out for?
A child can only get sickle anaemia if both parents have sickle cell trait.
Most of the patients show signs of fatigue due to anaemia.
Bedwetting is another sign caused mainly by kidney failure.
There is also periodic swelling of hands and feet.
A patient develops jaundice.
The increase pain in the back, chest and feet.

A patient is prone to have a couple of complications ;
Stroke with the blockage in the red blood cells preventing blood from reaching the brain. The difficulty in speech , seizure and sudden discovery of numerous weaknesses.
If not treated well can lead to blindness in relation to blockage.
Finally leg ulcers chips in to the affected legs.
Not forgetting that it can also lead premature birth and miscarriage. And if the birth is successful then comes the fear of low birth weight babies.

Once the disease hits the attention of our viewers treatment should commence as soon as possible to avoid the complications that are a great worry and double pain.
Sickle cell is just becoming more than guess work whether someone had it I the family tree or what. We should now aim to be tested and know of their condtion.

WOMEN MATTERS
Vaginal health awareness.

Its hectic when you have all about your body to worry about. Just like the skin the vagina is delicate from rashes, swellings and even cancer. More risk fo the women sadly with increase growth in cervical cancer and then there is yeast infection. I ;am glad how women have taken the initiative to talk about it openly. At the younger age would hear no one talk of their conditions wit anyone. Many would prefer to just solve it or better way keep it to themselves.
Hadiza Thompson is a medical student in the penultimate year at the University Illorin, Nigeria. She is a maternal and health enthusiast with special interest in sexual reproductive health. She took time to train us. With social distancing the main issue she took the initiative to train ladies of influence online.
As a good listener i would say she had alot of great things to teach.
“There is adifference in a health vagina and an unhealthy one. The healthiness of a vagina is determined the PH whic is in acidic state of the vagina. Unhealthy one has deviation from the normal ph.
The infections from the vagina come from bacterial source, fungal, viral and even parasitic. Wen we talk about about bacterial infection we are looking at the bacterial vaginosis and as for fungal its the most common one the cundidal vulvovaginitis. Parasites related to the environment the geographical location of a person.
Bacterial vaginosis.
Is caused by a bacteria. A vagina a clean part of the body with delicates. Bacteria that may come from the body. With everyone trying to look fresh and may end up infecting the vagina with chemicals from soap and the tissues and at time the clothes we wear.
Candidal vulvovaginitis.
Its commonly known as a yeast infection associated with a fungi called candida that comes with itching and some fitchy odour, discharge and pain in the vagina. Infection is commonly seen in pregnant women and diabetes persons mostly those people who misuse medicine.

healthy vaginal health. Avoid harming the vagina in any way. We should wear breathable underwear during the day and at night go for the nude state. Give the vagina the air and te chance to breathe.
Its also healthy to pee after sexual intercourse preventing urinary infection tat may result to a fishy odour. We need to also understand the vagina and give it a feeling of being loved and get affection.

We need to know that its not easy to test for the infection at home alone. Uts better done in medical centre. Its healthy that as a woman mainly an African woman we are proned to these infection. Going for check ups a couple of times is healthy. This is to ascertain the PH balance and any traces of infection that might be detected. Home remedy not so efficient given that it can only test the PH and an idea of the presence of the infection is not specific to the infection you might have. It’s more of checking the state of the vagina, the health condition.”

Is it advisable to take drugs like flucazone after sex to prevent yeast infection?
No. I think its not healthy to ause the antibiotics unless you have a yeast infection thats wy i advocate for protected sex to prevent the anxiety and the uncertainity of what might be wrong and what to take.

Heard that steaming your vagina makes it tight, how true is that?
Do not steam unless you have an infection. Its not advisable to steam only if the doctor acts you to steam. Mainly done to relieve oneself which is used with alittle salt. The vagin needs a mild temperature for existence. Take time with your physician and talk about before making such a decision.

Can someone use garlic against yeast infection?
Many of the patients take alot of advice from friends. Would hear a patient say she did because she heard. Before we decide to make such decisions we need to take advice from a doctor. Tell the doctor what you feel or maybe what you heard and wait for the doctors advice.

Why do i get pimples around my pubic hair
Its mainly caused by saving pubic hair so we get bumps so it comes with the creams. Its nice in my view not to shave because after the exercise comes in pimples and the itching part. This leads to discomfort. I think trimming is better. The hair so to say is good because they prevent bacteria by blocking the pathway for the bacteria and other infections. But if its compulsory to shave would advice naturally made creams. Its good done after menstruation to wash off every dirt. This reduces the risk of infection.
Its good to take care of your own organ. Cervical cancer calls and does the infection. Lets all opt for safe sex.

WORLD PEACE DAY
The best time to talk about coming together is on to ensure the unity prevails. We all want peace within ourselves. To be able to just have a humble time living our lives without fear and without worry Having peace within means healthwise one is fine and stress free. Sadly so to say most of our youths lack. They have been turned political pawns with assurance that just seems to have no positivity. Youths are politically misused and would see many of them suffer from riots and violence. How can we have peace if our generation suffers. A majority feeling left out hence resorting to crimes. Tha rate of unemployment and tonnes of [promises imposed on us seem to make matters worse with all the expectations turning into total mirage.

Youth have alot of say in peace making. When a black officer was murdered, the hunger and the thirst for blood could be felt from a far as the youths paraded the streets to fight for justice. They have desires and if overlooked the whole world peace yearned for not making sense.
For peace to prevail we need transparency. For sure all can’t be said or done witout many questions arising but the assurance that there is inclusion of each and every person.
Our countries suffer from violence because of neglect and pretence not to realise that every action taken affects the lowest person staying in the dumpsites. When a youth feels oppressed he takes all the hunger out on the streets, destroying buildings excites them and so does just engaging in theft. Have watch the fear in peoples eyes as they walk through the streets with their bags tapped to their ampits tightly held with few that after a short time span and even without their notice will be empty handed. you know sometimes its most humiliating moment to have only a piece left. In my opinion both parties are not blame not show my support for the theft but the fear of going hungry without any employment is greater. I would say thats it’s the toughest situation.
Yesterday was walking towards the family bank and suddenly something else caught my eyes, a great crowd gather. Curiosity is like part of us in every way so i took the time to check out what was happening hoping there might be a great business deal only to find a bleeding man lying helpless. I had to inquire well atleast to get a little hint. The man was being punished for theft. The act is bad ut this made the solution to every problem then we are sure going into extinction.

Though virtually they had a message for the people.

I think its high time we resort to peace making ways. Its high time government or better the legislative part of it gave us options better in writing. Peace is one of the greatest yearnings that each one of us cant miss to crave.

SMILE WARRIOR ORGANISATION
I think i love the work our youths are doing. Giving back to the society is like the greatest virtue not seen by many. I loved my day spent with the secretary general of the organization. Its was quite inspiring.
describe yourself and your position at smile warrior organization.

I am Ken Babu a student at cooperative university of Kenya taking project management. I participate in a couple of businesses and matters to do with politics.
I am the secretary general of smile warrior foundation. Would say its the best feeling to be part of the foundation
Wonderful. This is quite interesting. How would you describe smile warriors foundation.

Smile Warriors Foundation is a non governmental organization founded with the aim of putting smile on the faces of the less priviledged families on our society as the name suggests. Street kids , vulnerable orphans , children and many less advantaged. It was founded back in 2019.still a small organization only covered three counties but we plan and hope to make it a countrywide organization and beyond.
Leadership is a great factor to ensure that an organization runs. Wrangles are also part of it. As the secretary general how do you manage to keep th entire team focus away from te issues

Yes we have at some point had our differences among members and also amongst the leadership, but we all take time to listen to each other opinions oand points then we harmonise everything after reaching the equilibrium.
It was great move to have this plan to ensure the less fortunate are appreciated. At the same you would agree with me that the organizations have also turned into a scandal zone. How well do you ensure your true intentions to the people?
Well I can say that people come up with different intentions to come up with a project some to extort money and others to ensure that the parties involved are satisfied. Smile Warriors Foundation is an independent with leadership and members with clear minds without any evil intentions and thats why we don’t tell the world how much we have done trough selfies and pictures while among the people. Maybe if need just to keep memories of time well spent with out people photos are there.

Well an organization comes awith funding . how well do you run it. Do you have specific donors?

The greatest challenge we currently face. We still do not have donors, most of the money used come from member contribution and thats why we are calling upon the well wishers and leaders willing to support us. To make it happen , to reach out to many people we need funds. Its my humble plea.
The support will come by because of the great work you people you are doing. We are looking up to you guys to make it worthwhile. Are you a registered organisation under the government in accordance to the constitution?
We are a law abiding organization and respect the constitution. We are done with the registration process and documentation, currently waiting for the certificate presentation which is set to take place in two weeks time. Sadly we are missing the government support but we hope to get their attention and contribution towards tis great work.
On the project are there any and have you ensure the two thirds gender rule is observed.

Smile Warriors Foundation is a law abiding as I said before with aclear understanding of the constitution. We have a couple of projects coming by and plan to make them happen we just sad by the blockage caused by the pandemic with numerous measures placed by the government. We have planned for alot. We are sad about not being being able to take part in the mental health awareness that was scheduled for the whole of September but I believe talking about suicide we need to realise its becoming a pandemic on its on. Even the month is ending we plan to make a must do in our list of plans. We plan to make a guidance and councelling issue.
So great that you took time to talk to us. We are looking forward to attend a couple of the upcoming events if you wont mind.
We are also grateful as smile warrior foundation for the coverage. We are not in a opposition to leave you out. Smile warriors await to put a smile on your face.

Up close with King Grey

We spent the evening with great talent. A young but ambitious singer

One of his greatest release this month. Ndichu aims to hit many studios and clubs

Hello. It’s quite a pleasure please introduce yourself.
Thank you. My name is King Gray but friends just call me Gray.
An artist born and raised in Bungoma, Kenya.
I am a rapper so mostly i do rap and singing as a part time activity.
So basically you just into music or is there something else you are working on?
Currently am marketing events, also a student at cooperative university main campus and other upcoming plans which i won’t disclose them officially until they are achieved
That’s nice.
Yeah
Just like everyone there is always a starting point how did it all just begin
From a student to a musician.
I had passion in music since I was a kid
But I came to realize that I can sing when I was in highschool, Butere Boys High School….it was the year 2016 I was in form 2 by then
I was singing popular songs and I was into rap songs that I could rap even faster than other classmates of mine who had the same taste in music as mine
But someone called Peter Njuru, my former classmate asked me why I don’t write my own songs?
It was a great step for me to realize that and it made me who i am today
Miss Universe: So you have made your choice to start somewhere the first step in life is starting. Love the confidence.

Thank you
That aside the marketing tolls in the music industry are very low how do you plan to manage to make yourself marketable
It depends on how you had agreed with the management while signing the contract, some managers could go extra mile to make you marketable
But as the it is said in Swahili, “chema chajiuza…” if you’re just a good artist and you are passionate with what you do, things will be good because everyday when you wake up you have to come with a strategy on how to be heard out there as managers and other parties involved including fans would support you
It’s a world of scramble. Struggle for the fittest. It’s for the one who can stay focus. Are you ready for the task.
That was one of the decisions i had to make before my journey could start
And i am more than ready for the battle
Lovely. Getting into the entertainment you need to get ready for scandals. They await you.
Those

are one of the challenges that come with it, but you find artists like Wyre could be in the industry but they hardly respond to scandals even when they may arise
Other artists use the scandals to gain more fame or platform so it depends on one’s approach to such kind of situations
But it’s not wise to run away from situations, you have to handle them like a mature person
So you are ready.as a musician, how well would you entice your people that the other musicians have not done
See beats come in but they fade
Every artist, every producer and every instrumentalist is unique in his or her own way because, talent as a natural thing can hardly be duplicate with that of the other person
But the only thing someone has to do is to embrace his or her uniqueness and ensure that he or she is different from the other artists and with the help of producers, the particular artist will have a chance to embrace his or her unique talent
As for me, being lyrically fit is always my strength so the more I write songs the more ideas come in and be open for my fans to listen to.
Another factor is to do freestyles or song covers which create a better impression or version of the original music that’s why some vocalists get better and get a good platform when they apply this technique

Okay. We are strangers to that sector. So how many albums do you have currently and have they reached the market
Currently I don’t have an album yet, but i have a series of singles and collabos on the way roughly 20, those are to market my work before I start dropping albums/EPs and God willing I will be launching them annually
Miss Universe: Your first song still waiting for the video.can you describe it. The inspiration
Grey: My first single, Give Up No More, is inspired by a true story basically talking about my life on how I got started, where I am and where I wish to be in future. So in every journey, there isn’t a smooth even for the able ones because to get to the top is a process but one shouldn’t give up no matter the circumstances
About it’s video, for now am focusing on releasing series of audios in the interval of 3weeks so that when the following year is getting started, videos will be dropping back to back
Inspiration right from where it began.many youths take a step behind with fear of lacking money. How well should one consider singing
Considered that money is crucial
The main reason for the set backs young artists face is lack of finance
And I was in that position before
But if you’re really passionate with your music, you have to take an extra mile to support your music in terms of sponsorship, distribution and monetization
For example, this Kenyan Star, Arrow Boy was working in a butcher as he was saving funds to establish his career and eventually he made it with his first single
So one has to do what it takes to get into the industry and following the right path nothing is impossible

This is really an inspiration. Work hard and save for your music we are waiting to here more of king Grey. Waiting for the echoes
Good luck.
Thank you

Revolution

T
he world went to a standstill. Flight mode could be felt all over. It’s like our movement was stopped. Felt like a blockage on 14 th 2020, with the panic so intense and could see time stop. Our televisions so tensed with the stations crowded with the air breathed. Just when we were starting to feel the happiness in the New Year it cropped in. The first victim on March incoming tallies.
Seven months down the line the aftermath is here. The business world met a great blow with the number of investors chipping in almost zero. The tire in listening to the same thing is what has worsened our livelihood. It has come to a point the news update is like noise on deaf years. The complaint from the tourism sector with the Kenya Airways having to lay down most the employees to cut down the cost. The country felt a great blow with the president of USA restricting is citizens from visiting Africa especially the eastern side. With the reduction in the number of tourists decreasing so does the foreign exchange hence needs to deduct the workload was crucial. The common ‘mwananchi’ suffers once again.
The biggest losses came with the closure of school. Started with the mention of a few days then it turned to weeks and then it grew into months. The young generation at stake with increase stay at home. The schools and institutions are rotten with overgrown grass and cobwebs all over. The funny part is hearing about schools turned to poultry farms and others became stores just for the chance to make something small. Pandemic as its name suggests was a pandemic on its own. Money the biggest problem a young generation had to go virtual. Seeing a parent pay for online lessons is one thing but knowing that all is jaunts a Childs play with the system at times flopping. How ‘can they expect a kid under the age of 5years to be able to understand what’s happening. Seeing a face is easy but getting to understand takes more than theory.
Enough talk about the closed schools did anyone notice that our students suffered a much worse fate. With the semester just beginning only to end in a jiffy. We have been waiting and sometimes would sit and listen to the cabinet secretary talk, to be able to catch a glimpse of any good news. The watch turned a norm. Student life is more into phone. A better part of the holiday as they termed it used for watching movies and listening to music.
Homes are no longer the place to be. The guardians heard complaining every corner of the rooms. No one understands the feeling of having no place to go or nothing to do. Idleness has grown to the villages. Sadly to say but the immoralities from the student left the village girls in distress. After a period of three months we have seen cases of 4000 teenage girls getting pregnant. A young kid gives birth to a kid, a total dilemma. Catastrophe is an underestimated statement. Curbing two global pandemics has been a whole task on its own. The headache grows with increased worry on how to handle the pregnancies.
Hardly had we finished the talk on increasing teenage pregnancy when the political temperature intensified. The politicians taking advantage of the youths. They understood the fact that the young ones have a lot of energy. They know very well the bankrupt state of the youths. They are back with promises and took no time to involve the students. They turned the youths into their pawns. The situation as seen two of our youths die painful. We need school. You only miss the sun when it starts to slow. The rhythm is turning into a disfigured one. There is no more fun in the actions arising from the pandemic.
As much as every blame would be placed on corona outbreak, the covid19 song as it’s turned into there were some good that came with it. A number of people got laid off their jobs due unavoidable reasons but it got them back to the drawing boards. An accountant now had to think of other ways to utilise the experience garnered. Something had to take people off the idea of employment being the only source of survival. Not mean it negatively but corona acted as an eye opener both to the employed and self employed, students were not left out. The sudden urge to make something small. I have taken time to observe the youths and some took the initiative to take part in small businesses, French fries being the common business in town. The realisation that their continuous dependence on the parents was leaving them in poverty with the support coming in small portions. The situation had to awaken their hidden capabilities. It’s a step ahead.
We had time to think of what we had posed aside. The things that we did not really make a priority got to us at a time we never expected. We have to understand to live with the situation and embrace the new normal. Once we decide to go on with our lives so with the livelihood get back. We need our education, enough with the old tale of going virtual. This is a mirage unless adequately prepared for. We want our economy stable again we need to get right back where rain started beating us.

corona is stationery but we are in motion.

Wednesday here I come

Happy international youth day

Everyone needs to be celebrated and heard….international youth day allows us to air out the issues burning in

So many leaders of the future await. More than 100,000 graduands each year get into the job market, all them desiring they dream job expectant that their is space for them given they have finished their period of learning and managed to get a certificate but to their dismay it’s something else.

The increased unemployment rate is alarming among the young ones. The streets are crowded with youths scattered everywhere.

The rate at which youth are left stranded without jobs.

The president has in recent weeks talked about the generation unlimited aiming to support youths. As the world marks this day for the youths we shift our focus. The increasing pressure on jobs has made the technical institutions more crucial than the higher institution. Not to seem biased but the problem on unemployment can only be solved by the technical universities less theory more practice.

The theme for the day subsisting youth engagement for global action. The KAZI MTAANI joined the youths in celebrating this day. Having been started to keep the youth occupied aimed to reduce the unemployment. Without jobs comes a lot of crimes. The idleness is what brought the country to join the GENERATION UNLIMINET.

A special message from young leader….. Hon Babu Owino.

The Un women took the chance to celebrate the youth aiming to advocate for more engagement of the youths. The event hosted by Miss Universe 2019 Zozibini Tunzi. The event focus on the youth engagement allowing the youth voicing out their say’ enough is enough youth is me vision us mine’

Antonio Guteres the secretary General United Nations had something for the leaders, “I call on leaders and adults everywhere to do everything possible to enable the world’s youth to enjoy lives of safety, dignity and opportunity and contribute to the fullest of their great potential.

Antonio Guterres – Secretary General United Nations

The pandemic will be affecting youths more since in order create jobs to occupy the millions who lost their jobs related to the economy falling. In order to be able to get back on foot more than 600millions jobs need to be created which comes as a mirage.

Raila urged the leaders and parents to protect the leaders from violence and discrimination with the youth day intended to give the youths a way to voice their issues, ideas and challenges.

How online is we.

It all starts with new numbers strange numbers looking for you in your inbox but after shoving everyone away making everyone feel like you not interested one stays stranded. Every one gets tired and with time we realise we all alone. The staying at home without commitment has left many young people idle. The desire to get even the littlest love crops in. Staying glued to the screens;the television, phones, computer and desktop. It is the technology that controls us, without electricity all is lost.

Tinder has resorted to be the best solution for the lonely. The online dating apps such as Tinder, Joehindy Facebook, meetme and many others coming up at high rate. The dependence on these apps to find a love partner ravishes but still brings question. How true the person? At this time of the year no one cares anyway. Mmy would say it’s fun finding someone you like online who has the same preferences as you. I would want to try it my level of belief is low. This are the apps for people who are good at going with the flow without expecting much from it. Wouldn’t recommend it for a person looking for a future partner.

Finding love is hard but if you looking to try. Tinder awaits

Is it risky? According to the finding of the statistics done by kasperky daily disadvantages carry weight.

They are hiding behind their nice profiles and words well planned….take care before care takes us. Date but don’t be outdated be smart not outsmart……tinder rocks
  • People turn to online dating for a variety of reasons. A few do it for fun, while some look for more meaningful relationships and one-in-ten are simply looking for sex.
  • People share information with others too easily when they are dating online, with a quarter admitting they share their full name publicly on their dating profile. A third have shared their home address, and the same number have shared naked photos of themselves this way, exposing them to risk. This has defamed many with pictures going viral. How trustworthy can one get with her personal details depends.
  • Even though lying is one of the most hated aspects of online dating, most online daters lie to each other, faking a range of attributes such as their names, marital status, location and appearance.

Let’s have fun with our personal data in mind. Emotions also need to be considered with many bound to get hurt. The pictures are all over the social media girls trying to impress even getting to the point of posting her nakedness. It is quite immoral and unethic.

A pad for a girl a smile on the face

We not feminist we just protect our on. We not selfish it’s the pain that drives us. I was happy when I saw the government make an effort to support the disadvantaged girls. Their desire to keep clean is what keeps them hoping that someone will come by and luckily guardian angels came.

Artistic Tuesday

Culture check

The way they dance. The paintings on their body make the celebration more interesting. With the initiates making it more fun, the focus the truthfulness

This has brought many people together for the longest time with the initiates having to be trained and taught their incoming responsibilities. They are taught to be able to shoulder incoming responsibilities. These ceremony serving as a right of passage to adulthood means more duties await, strength they are to have wisdom in demand. With their endurance making them ready to overcome every pain that awaits ahead of them.

The ceremony set to take place every two years sees more than 10,000 initiates being escorted to the chopping chamber as would term it. The luhya people especially the Bukusu hold onto this tradition to the heart.

The dancing, the mlongo song hitting different part of the brain the nerve activated the adrenaline increased. I love the way the initiates dance even though the pain ahead seem to be unbearable.

Due to the covid 19 pandemic some issues arose with the measures put in place to cub it seeming appearing like a hindrance to the people.

On 20th June 2020 the leaders said they would postpone the ceremony to 2022 but after a while seems culture in the heart can’t be forgotten.

The people made a step to ensure the ceremony could still take place but still observing the COVID-19 rules. Culture at the heart. This was love for something they hold onto, respect for the traditions. I respect diversity I love dancing. Who doesn’t?

Food for the soul

Words expressed from the heart. So real so rythmic so tempting. Seeing young artistic youths supporting life teaching life love not forgotten

A poem to the girlchild. A promise from a woman to her future girl. She promises to train her in a good way teach her the basics of life, the entities of life. A girl child well molded.

Just like this poet more to bring back the ethics of life. The forgotten morals of life. Reminding the society of the values that we to seem to be fading each day that passes by. If we ignore the generation is gone.

My eyes teary my eyebugs swollen
Heart shattered joy just a mirage
Just a pandemic as was termed
An alien inversion to many but
It’s a crisis it’s a dilemma it’s damage
African girl  danger looms

Our girls losing hope helpless
Deserted is what it feels like
With no way to get it all
Their dreams for just a glimpse
Desires misused taken advantage of
The potbelly not pity no fear
Wickedly taking her valuables
All her wealth known to few snatched
Africa girl   future cut off

See that Innocence did she deserve it
Inconsiderate society finishing her off
Emotionally breaking her physically torture
Her social rights denied her internal self done
They finished her off took advantage of her
Her lack of  it all is her cause of it all
Her desire for the basic basically her weakness
Misused she is misplaced her intentions
African girl hopes shattered

She just wanted the pad her flow intense
She is just a young women  cleanliness subdue
New clothes she yearned a big price she pays
He promises money but a disease shes added
The big belly her shame so heavy is her burden
The society worries not cares not
African girl  dream tortured

A poem for the pain of the girlchild. The increased rape tormenting our girls. The pandemic coming with all the negativity the rich taking advantage of the women. Many girl having to be young mothers. The weight the burden increased.

The poet is saddened by the situation. The increased target on the school going girls breaks hearts. How well are they protected?

Let’s dress up

Let us Glow the African way. Less stress in our land

Seen the Ankara dresses. African vintage made from the love of culture. A woman’s most important personality comes from her dressings. Human nature. Want to understand her a person’s thinking and lifestyle look at the dress. The type of dress or skirt explains more that is unsaid and unexplained.

For a long time a woman would wait for the international clothes in the stock market forgetting that the capabilities in the industries is magnificent. Most clothes imported from China.

The beauty representation of African love so enticing to the heart falling deeper in love.

The origination of the disease might have brought people back to the local market. With less clothes being imported the dependence on the local textile industries is amazing. Are you worried that the cloth you get cannot match what you would buy from the importation industry? Worry less because the amazing combinations would molify your heart from the shoes to the dress. Made of art made of culture simplicity improvised.

Confidence not forgotten even with the pandemic. African made in many forms. I am in love with African art.

See you same place same time next episode. We love your mind being placed so fear not to comment. Thank you for being part of us

MONDAY SPECIAL#BUSINESS TYCOON

Survival for the fittest

Covid 19 came with bad luck. Due to the falling economy companies have seen themselves running low of money hence being forced to cut down on expenses. Kenya Airways had to lay down most it’s employees.

This had left many asking themselves. What next what now where will I start. most people should realise starting is at the point of stop. The skills they had kept them into that job. With the job gone doesn’t mean the talent the skills the thing they love doing the most should go to waste.

An account wonders where will she go forgetting she is good with computers she or he is outspoken can communicate. The skills of communication overlooked but it’s rare with so many lacking the capability.

It’s the time we need to think outside the box. Stop the continuous Dependance on employment. Let’s make it a habit to improve the created jobs and create more. Training the mind to be a two faced being. Working is made a basic need but uniqueness comes with thinking ahead and different from the other.

Whatever little we want to engage in make no sense if we don’t embrace it. Acceptance of change and second plan makes life special with readiness to move to the next session.

Open mindedness needed at this crucial time of the year. The time where we all have to survive the pandemic but at the same time ensure our stomachs ain’t empty. Survival for the fittest. Fitness tested by smartness.

Relationship in extinction

Have you felt it. The time women would sit with their girls and the men with their boys is faded. The training the special teachings and advice all were offered by the society. The parents had a closer glance at the children growing up. Their roles were distributed without complains. The boys would accompany their fathers to war, to special hunting activities and pastoral duties. These chores were done without supervision.

What hit differently was the fact that greetings are not in our youths’ mind. We wake up set for the day but only wake up and think of ourselves. Very few of the society members pass each other without a word.

So I have found it hard to say just a good morning because I have lived to hear boobs say it. At some point we pass each other even if the neighbour steps on our toes we snob it.

I had not understood the feeling until i realised we assume people are fine. A parent talks less to the child and viceversa and with time the relationship is tanished.

Simple greeting says alot about the person can bring onto surface some hidden worries. Like the situation where a teacher comes into a class and starts teaching without greeting students they’ll ask questions, like what happened? Is he fine?

The same goes to an employee and employer. We have made joke of the relationships and made them common things that can be put aside because business is of more importance or the foot matters more let’s bring back the culture where we would easily know each other’s day occurrences.

The deal you want so bad needs just a nice starting greeting with a well placed smile. Start your day nicely by making another person’s day ask about someone day every moment counts even the simple goodnight to the wife you’ve seen for long, that son you know is yours needs just a little attention. Get to know.

Most people engrossed to their phones making no time for the people around them caring less about the

Weekend here we come

Where is he?

With the lakeside facing the loss of great legends we are worried about the missing Ouma Basement, Ken Wuod Alego, Onyango Jakadenge, Ochieng’ Wuod Ojolla and Onyango Papa Jey . The late Lady Maureen passed on some weeks ago due to an illness. The songstress died at 3am on Saturday in Uriri, Migori where she was recuperating after she was discharged from hospital last week, her family said.

She was laid to rest but the pandemic seems to show no mercy since a few months earlier we saw a great Musician pass on. Ohangla musician Bernard Onyango aka Abenny Jachiga passed on with the cause of death unclear.

Growing up they made home life interesting with night events. We would see men go out to the night events commonly termed as Disco Matanga. These Musicians graced our holidays bringing memories of our origin and intensifying the feeling deep inside. The cultural love could be felt as the song would be sang in the opening and closing of local games and other events.

Then I realised we missed the waist movers. New Ohangla sensation John Okinyi who is better known by his stage name Osogo Winyo of the Ohangla Boys band. Osogo winyo seemed to win heart. Starting as a watchman from Migori town now making it international. 2009 he made his first international journey to Germany and Switzerland.

After his disappearance many of his fans have been asking questions some even assuming he might have passed on. Osogo winyo’s first release Migingo Orutu systemwon hearts bit the commonly sang one was ‘wan ji ariyo’ this song released in 2009 was sang everywhere. He then went missing until when he was spotted with Tony Nyadundo. He assured the people that he has not quite music.

After years of silence we still wonder. Who took him. The legend of ohangla making beats felt from the heart. The lake side in total boredom with many of great Musician in silence without a clue what they are up to what’s the plan. What next? Where is he?

International indigenous people day

August 9th is here and we have to embrace the fact that some communities are less recognised. Some of the tribes seize to exist in our midst without caring about what great impact they have in our lives both socially and economically. Countries come together to remember the fact that we need to recognise the people.

These people should not be allowed to go into extinction and this can only be ensured if we make them a part of us

Kenya, the people who identify with the indigenous movement are mainly nomadic herders and hunter-gatherers, as well as some fishing villages and small farming communities. It is estimated that pastoralists comprise 25% of the national population.

The pastoralists mainly occupy the arid and semi-arid lands of northern Kenya and towards the border between Kenya and Tanzania in the south.

The hunter-gatherers include the Ogiek, Sengwer, Yiaku, Waata and Aweer (Boni), while the pastoralists include the Turkana, Rendille, Borana, Maasai, Samburu, Ilchamus, Somali, Gabra, Pokot, Endorois and others.

For a couple of years the rate of insecurities have increased among the pastoralist communities being forced to flee their lands due to fear. Two weeks ago we experienced a wrangle that saw many people misplaced most having to stay in schools without idea of what next.

Most of them having been evicted by the government with a claim they reside. In the government’s land which to then does not make sense since these have been their ancestral lands. The increased problem between the tribes and the Kenya wildlife service seems to be rendering most homeless. So sad so heartbreaking.

Look-alike dilemma

Uhuru Kenyatta and his alleged look alike Michael Njogo Gitonga

After the picture of the president alleged lookalike went viral on social media Kenyans seems to be asking questions and clarification about the possibility of them being related. Some people at the first appearance of the person assumed these were old pictures of the President before he descended in power. Turns out Michael has been known by people around him as his lookalike. When he was interviewed by Inooro FM this is what he had to say

People around Umoja know me as Uhuru or better yet Uhunye. Sometimes, I am also surprised at how much me and the president look-alike.

“Sometimes, I meet people who tell me that they have not had anything to eat and being ‘Uhunye’, I have to give them some money. In fact, that name has really made me suffer,” Njogu told Inooro FM.

He said he was living fine until the pandemic struck and he had to move to a smaller house and his saving all derailed to almost nothing. His status got many asking why the president can not help him with his vast wealth. A few think that maybe a little help wouldn’t do since Njogu seems to living in poverty. After this suggestion from the area member of parliament to have the president help his lookalike people had something to say.

As we are all anxious let’s wait for the president’s reaction.

Feel good Friday

Feel good Friday defame where is it now if not a normal day made

Situation brought by the pandemic. Had it been four months ago five months ago the streets would be crowded regardless of the night. The excitement felt on Friday with youth in an hurry to be at some specific places at specific times. With pandemic many business affected.

E bars have been closed. The fun all taken away. The situation where a ground would leave home to be part of an event commonly 10/10 hosted in Citizen TV hosted at the late hours of the night.

Before the crisis if one got a chance to be in the middle of Nairobi the difference between day and night on a Friday hardly felt. With youths at the run to get away from the police only reach their destination.

The situation back months ago

All we see is empty clubs, the streets clears and businesses face closure due to the restrictions inacted by the President. The desire to drink up all problems depressing people.

Many have a tendency of solving their problems through drinking of partying with hope all will go well.

Empty club forced to shut down

Let us welcome the new normal by drinking more tea. One down promote another. A smile felt on the beverage company.

Education jokes

With the pandemic everything is at a standstill. The institutions closed indefinitely. After a long stay at home seems like the deal of embracing digital learning seems to be chipping in. The online classes cutting along all institution.

The Education CS Dr George Magoha claims we have no idea or clue on which day and time the normal days will be back so we have to embrace the new life.

The tire among students felt. Actually when he talked about an institution getting prepared can be allowed to resume hopes were there. Suddenly the number of cases seemed to be shooting up at a high rate. He had to change his statement, completely shuttering hopes with news of January reopening.

Magoha said Universities and colleges not COVID-19 compliant will remain closed until 2021.

CS Magoha and principal secretaries Simon Nabukwesi (University Education), and Dr Julius Jwan (Technical and Vocational Training) have been touring universities and technical institutions to assess their preparedness.

In statement last week 30th July, CS Magoha said a survey of most institutions shows only few of them have put COVID-19 measures in place.

“A survey of all Teacher Training Colleges, Universities and TVET institutions has shown that few of them have put in place necessary measures to comply with the Ministry of Health’s COVID-19 protocols that can guarantee safety of staff and learners once they reopen,” the statement noted.

“The final decision on the reopening of the TTC’s, TVETs and universities will be dependent on the guidance from the Ministry of Health,”

Hence we are seeing the virtuality of life. Studies taken online. The reaction to it explains alot

The exercise made a joke

With the results bound to make no sense rendering the statement …. EDUCATION IS KEY TO SUCCESS’ useless. an online degree only caters for the theory part but what about practice? This makes no impact.

Can’t say but this breaks our generation. In an hurry to get into the flow a greater pandemic awaits.

Scam no scam a great question on the online work.

Tbt Thursday

with pandemic comes a normal routine. Monday is no different to Thursday but let’s not lie many would agree Thursday comes with some boredom. The situation is understandable given that as we begin our week, Monday is business oriented with the anxiety to finish up the pending work that may have overlapped into the weekends. When Tuesday comes by more business more work meetings. By the time we get to Thursday the fatigue is felt. The anxiety that was felt at the start of the week all the strength seems to be missing. For many sleep is a perfect solution though not the best solution.

If I was to wake up to a Thursday morning the first thought coming to my mind would be an exercise. Some workout is healthy to start the day.

With different ways of making our exercise count.

With this exercise commonly related to body shape up would recommend it…..for all purposes.

First thing in the morning when I wake up I thank God for life. Due to some circumstances taking it to the road for the morning seems technical but that can not stop me. Being a woman I have a purpose for undergoing some exercise. Some squats and bicycle exercise would do

These exercises seems so time wasting maybe on many because of the impatience. A lot of us interested in it would want to see the results immediately. Just like a profession or job exercise should be made a hobby done regularly for better results. Squats believed to increase the assets done by many forgetting that balance is more than necessary. All the exercises are intertwined without one another seems less effective. Ladies have to try this I mean though not biggy biggy I am for sure getting spicy. Let alone the butts like the rate at which the hips are here let’s try this out.

Easen stomach cramps with exercise

At this time of the month a major part of the women generation going through the ovulation period. With drugs seemingly not working for most. Though not a doctor would recommend an exercise. The exercise can not stop the stomach cramps but for sure an easening factor inducing the pain less mild.

yoga poses for menstrual cramps

Cobra, Cat, Cow and Fish yoga poses are a few good exercises for you to try. They may help you cope with heavy cramping, and are best for your heavier menstrual days. Stretches are best done when the body is warm (as it is after a bath or shower). Each stretch should be held for 30 to 60 seconds. Please do not push to the point of pain or discomfort.

Pose (Picture 1): Lie on your stomach with your legs straight and feet together, and place your hands under your shoulders. Using your hands to push you, lift your head and shoulders. Breathe deeply. Hold this pose for 30 to 60 seconds, as long as you feel comfortable. Then return to your original lying Breathing should be deep.Try to completely fill the belly when you breathe

in (inhale), allowing the belly to expand as you inhale. When you breathe out (exhale), the belly moves in and softens. If you are not able to take deep belly breaths you may be forcing the stretch and will need to ease out of it a bit. Breathe normally for 2 to 3 breaths, then repeat.

Cat/Cow Pose: Get on your hands and knees. Make sure your hands are directly under your shoulders, and your knees are directly under your hips. Take a deep breath in, and lower your belly toward the ground, while you gently stretch your head and bottom to the This is a cow pose (Picture 2)!

Breathe normally for 2 to 3 breaths. When you are ready to change your position, inhale deeply, then as you breathe out, curl your back toward the sky, with your head and bottom gently stretching towards the ground. This is a cat pose (Picture 3)!

Breathe normally for 2 to 3 breaths. Slowly go back and forth between the two poses, holding them each for 2 to 3 breaths.

Fish pose (Picture 4): Place a pillow on the floor. Place your back and head on the pillow and place your legs straight in front of you on the floor. Place your arms comfortably at your sides, with your palms facing up. Stay in this pose, breathing gently, as long as you feel comfortable. If having the legs straight causes low back discomfort, please bend the knees with feet flat on the floor.

During lighter menstrual days, try moderate-intensity aerobic exercises like walking or light jogging. This type of physical activity can reduce bloating (extra water weight) and the pain of cramping. Aerobic exercise helps your blood circulation and the release of “feel-good hormones” called endorphins (en DORF ins). These can also work together to soothe headaches and improve mood.

Start your morning listening to a legend

Won’t lie when fatigued and troubled he seems to be my answer. His songs so much nice to my soul.

If by chance one thursday morning a guy gives me one of his tracks a vibing way seems like am bound to give in.

This morning I woke up so much worried and after a good exercise and nice bath sat to listen to some old music . Looking at collection realised had nothing. Trying to be modern had taken over my playlist. The beats the softness of his words so different. After trying he came into my mind. Currently listening and repeating his songs over and over.

Kenny was an award winning musician. The best country music singer. Anytime we want to feel how Texas felt like at those times. With the dustiness and Kenny’s beats filling the air.

Especially when he sang with dolly that combination rocks. Seems like he won my heart and fixed most of my Thursday misconceptions. The belief that Thursday carries bad luck.

At some point had made this seem real. With boredom becoming my routine.

When you love someone

Some song taking you to a whole new level of love. Not compulsory romantic feeling but the feeling of having just that one person you can sit and think about. Even your pet can be the perfect person.

Miss Universe review by Edith Poets...,

Women crush Wednesday

With male chauvism the order of the day it feels good to know of great women making strides to make it to the top. Women making efforts to be seen and felt. Our country though in a crisis money seems to be waiting for no one.

Well as a youth I have learnt something from observation. I had a friend who though young look glamorous and pretty. The first thought that crossed my mind was a sponsor or a sugar daddy but since am inquisitive had to investigate. After continuous stocking as many would term it I found nothing.

Ade a choice that very few ladies would resort to. I approached her, complimented her beauty. She was really pretty can’t lie. From her reply I felt pathetic. I was ashamed of my thought my generalising character.

” I look good because I sell fish.” That was her answer. Well I was just as surprised as you. For the first time I felt genuine her. I felt like knowing more.

She is a young lady studying and at the time working. Her job so taken my few not even the first I thought she would do. She had the most powerful things to say.

” I look nice but in the evening change into something business oriented. I love what I do because it’s mine not given. I clean the fish fry it clean my area of work. I have to put every effort it takes.”she said with no fear.

They say mentors are seen in novels magazine but I met one. She whom I misjudged so sad to think. With her greatness I felt inspired.

For the first time it felt good to work with women. A woman with brains values all around her. Business does not need personal life involved. Most women tend to mix the two. They want easy way. We’ll check our fellows make it from uniqueness.welcome to the world of no regrets.

GIRLCHILD MATTERS

My eyes teary my eyebugs swollen
Heart shattered joy just a mirage
Just a pandemic as was termed
An alien inversion to many but
It’s a crisis it’s a dilemma it’s damage
African girl  danger looms

Our girls losing hope helpless
Deserted is what it feels like
With no way to get it all
Their dreams for just a glimpse
Desires misused taken advantage of
The potbelly not pity no fear
Wickedly taking her valuables
All her wealth known to few snatched
Africa girl   future cut off

See that Innocence did she deserve it
Inconsiderate society finishing her off
Emotionally breaking her physically torture
Her social rights denied her internal self done
They finished her off took advantage of her
Her lack of  it all is her cause of it all
Her desire for the basic basically her weakness
Misused she is misplaced her intentions
African girl hopes shattered

She just wanted the pad her flow intense
She is just a young women  cleanliness subdue
New clothes she yearned a big price she pays
He promises money but a disease shes added
The big belly her shame so heavy is her burden
The society worries not cares not
African girl  dream tortured

This poem written out of pain. The feeling of neglect felt with the arrival of the pandemic with alot bound to go a mess if not looked into carefully.

The increased number of impregnated girls leaves the girl child in great danger. The society changed focus on the pandemic seems to be taking over from the fight for girlchild.

The schools closed no prevention for them. So many organisation formed to try curb the situation. Many women coming out to support our girls. The main aim is prevent more but support the affected. As women we should desist from bad mouthing and moral abusing the affected ladies. Without taking note that some circumstances are unavoidable. As they say blame game solves nothing let’s support our girls. Morally emotionally making them feel like going on. Socially the acceptance of them makes the situation better to deal with, not to say we condoning their behaviours but just being there.

Make that old man wealthy as he thinks that the woman matters more than his wealth. It pains when you hear our girls trading sex for pads. Lack of ethics so evident in our men.

With them taking advantage of all the lacks in a ladies life others even forcefully grabbing the helpless and innocent girl. If overlooked so many young mother’s bound to exist. So many with no idea let alone preparedness to take onto this role. Sad to say but even the resource nonexistant making the situation more hard even for the government.

Just as she said let’s mould our girls to be leaders @Miss Universe 2019 Zozibini Tunzi

With increased unwanted pregnancies comes alot of lost future. The ladies should be molded into leader business people and every great person comes from them. Protect a girlchild protect the future.

Editor:Miss universe. Read more on next week’s coverage.

We all looking forward to something big. Let your girlfriend know she does not have to experience it all alone. The period episode coming soon…..
